How to Cook Fresh Fruit Salad
- Peel the pear and the apple, remove the cores and cut into thin slices. Peel the orange and remove the segments. Using a sharp, pointed knife, remove the 'skin' that separates the segments, leaving just the soft fruit from inside. Peel the banana and cut into thin slices. Cut the grapes in halves. Place everything in to a serving bowl and squeeze the juice from half a lemon over the top. Sprinkle with the sugar, add the brandy and mix well.
- Nothing could be simpler or fresher either on its own or with a little double cream (heavy cream).
GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
If you have enough time, allow the salad to stand for at least an hour in the fridge before serving since the fruit will make a rich syrup on its own. Stir again before serving.
