Ready in 7 mins

Recipe by Graham

A healthier alternative to Fried Bread, Egg Fried Bread is sometimes called French Toast although, in fact, it originates not from France but from Canada. It is quick and simple and provides a good breakfast just on its own

Per person:

2 slices thick cut bread
½ cup milk
1 egg
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter

How to Cook Egg Fried Bread (French Toast)

  1. Mix the milk, egg and cinnamon together in a bowl and beat well. Take two slices of thick cut bread and 'dunk' them on both sides in the milk/egg/cinnamon mixture. Heat the butter in a frying pan then place the bread in the pan and heat gently until the underside is browned. Turn the bread over and cook the other side in the same way. You may have to add more butter as you're cooking.
GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
If you like sweet breakfasts, pour a little Maple Syrup over the fried bread before eating.
