Fried Bacon

Ready in 5 mins

Recipe by Graham

Yeah, I know that for most of you, frying a bit of bacon poses no problems, but spare a thought for Cousin Vinny who has never had to do it before, and has only just discovered that bacon doesn't come ready-cooked.

If you feel that it's really too easy to have a recipe for fried bacon, please read my introduction. There, I say that the only assumptions I have made about you, the visitor to NeedaRecipe.com, is that you know what an egg is, and that you can tell the difference between the sharp end of a knife and the blunt end! Because of this, you may find some of the recipes a little elementary. If this is the case, don't worry because it means that you have a head start on some of your fellow site visitors. Even visitors who have some basic culinary skills will find that this site contains plenty of useful ideas and short cuts that they have not come across before.

How to Cook Fried Bacon

  1. Lay the bacon rashers (slices) flat in a frying pan (skillet) with just a drop or two of oil to initially 'grease' the bottom of the pan. Cook on high heat for two to three minutes, turning once. If you like your bacon crispy, consider grilling (braising) it since it's difficult to crisp bacon in a frying pan.
GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
If you want crisp bacon but do not have a grill, use a non-stick frying pan with no added oil and heat the pan well before adding the bacon
