4 x 6 - 8 oz gammon steaks, about ½" (1cm) thick

PLEASE NOTE: This recipe calls for the GRILLING or BROILING of food. In most countries of the world, the term "grilling" refers to heat coming from above the food source. Significantly, in North America, it signifies heat from below the food (such as barbecuing). In the United States and Canada, when the heat source for grilling comes from above, grilling is termed broiling, and the pan that holds the food is usually called a broiler pan.

How to Cook Grilled Gammon Steak

  1. Place the gammon under a preheated (medium) grill (broiler). Cook for 5 minutes then turn it over and cook for a further 5 minutes.
  2. Serve immediately either with a warmed pineapple ring or a fried egg on top. Delicious with French fries, Cauliflower Cheese or Baked Potato
GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
Gammon in slices has a tendency to curl when grilled. You can prevent this by snipping the fat around the edge with a pair or scissors at ½" (1cm) intervals.
