Savoury Chive Biscuits

Ready in 20 mins

Recipe by Graham

Ideal for entertaining, you can load these savoury biscuits with cream cheese or use them as a snack source with a slice of tomato on top. Versatility and taste too!

Serve Savoury Chive Biscuits either on their own or with Avocado and Cheese Dip, Tapenade or Walnut Dip. If served with dips, you can either allow your guests to dip them themselves, or you can pipe a little of the dip on the top of each biscuit, and top with a thin slice of stuffed olive, or sprinkle a tiny amount of chopped parsley over.

To make about 100 biscuits:

4 oz butter
4 oz creamy soft cheese
4 oz plain flour
1 tablespoon finely chopped chives

How to Cook Savoury Chive Biscuits

  1. Cream the butter and cheese together in a bowl until well blended. Sift the flour through a sieve (strainer) into the mix and add the chopped chives. Mix with a fork until everything is well combined.
  2. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured board or other flat surface and roll it out to about ¼" (5mm) thickness. Using a plain-edged cookie cutter or upturned eggcup (or similar) cut the dough into rounds of about 1½" (3.5cm). Place these well apart on a lightly greased baking tray and bake in a preheated moderately hot oven (Mk 6 - 400ºF - 200ºC) for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
Be sure to chop the chives very fine. They are there to impart flavour, not particularly to be seen.
