Apple and Smoked Salmon Rolls Recipe

Apple and Smoked Salmon Rolls

An Ideal Recipe for Slimmers
Marie-Danielle

Recipe by

Apples are an excellent way to remove hunger pangs and are a wise choice to help avoid snacking on fatty foods between meals. Combined with gorgeous smoked salmon, these rolls can be eaten as a snack or a starter.

Serves 4 (137 kcal per person):

Granny Smith apples
8 oz
Fromage Frais (fromage blanc, maquée) **
4 slices
Smoked Salmon (about 6oz - 170g)

salt and pepper

How to Cook Apple and Smoked Salmon Rolls

  1. Wash, peel, de-core and finely slice the apples into thin sticks. Don't worry that they're not all the same length since you'll be trimming them again later. Mix the apple sticks with the fromage frais (fromage blanc) and add salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.
  2. Lay one quarter of this mixture, with the apple sticks all facing in the same direction, onto a slice of smoked salmon and roll the salmon into a tube. Wrap this in cling film and leave in the fridge for at least 15 minutes to help make cutting easier. Repeat with the other slices of salmon.
  3. Remove the rolls from the fridge and remove the cling film, then cut into lengths of about 1" (2cm). Yummy...
  4. ** If you wish, you can substitute natural (unsweetened) yoghurt for fromage frais.

Marie-Danielle MARIE-DANIELLE'S HOT TIP:
If you can get red baies, crush a few and add these to the fromage frais to add a slight 'kick' to the taste.
