How to Cook Whole Continental Cabbage
- Slice the cabbage into sections about 1" (2.5cm) thick. Place these in a pan of boiling, salted water. Meanwhile boil a kettle of water. After 5 minutes, drain off the water from the pan and replace with boiling water from the kettle. Add salt and cook for a further 5 minutes.
- Drain well in a colander then allow to cool. When cool, separate the leaves and fry over a medium heat for about 3 minutes until the leaves begin to brown. Add a good portion of freshly-ground pepper. Serve hot.

Be sure to change the water during cooking. The food will taste better and will not leave you feeling like a gas balloon!
What To Eat Tonight

The main course is often the easiest to plan but, when entertaining, what do you use as a starter course? Here are some great choices.

Lamb is sometimes thought of as "tough" meat but, properly cooked, it is one of the finest meats for both everyday and when entertaining.

Chicken breasts are thought by some people as being dry yet, properly prepared and cooked, nothing could be further from the truth.
Other Vegetables Recipes

A tasty dish just on its own or with a meal of pork - like my own favourites, Filet Mignon with Sage and Rosemary or Filet Mignon with Honey & Ginger

Try something new with potatoes. Fondant potatoes are favourites with chefs, and are seasoned with rosemary and thyme.
