PLEASE NOTE: This recipe calls for the GRILLING or BROILING of food. In most countries of the world, the term "grilling" refers to heat coming from above the food source. Significantly, in North America, it signifies heat from below the food (such as barbecuing). In the United States and Canada, when the heat source for grilling comes from above, grilling is termed broiling, and the pan that holds the food is usually called a broiler pan.
How to Cook Hot Bacon and Egg Sandwich
- Boil the eggs for about six minutes so that they are neither too soft and runny nor completely hard-boiled. Cool quickly under cold water so you can hold the shells then carefully remove the shells. Meanwhile, grill (or fry) the bacon and (if you feel the need) lightly butter the bread.
- Place two bacon rashers (slices) onto a slice of bread then put the egg on top. Roughly chop the egg so that the yolk runs over the bacon then quickly place the second slice of bread on top to form the sandwich. Oh messy bliss!!

To remove the shell from a cooked egg, tap it gently to make a small crack, then place the egg in cold water. Roll it between the palms of your hands to further crack it and then carefully peel the shell away. It will be made easier if you keep your hands and the egg wet.
